Prepaid calling cards provide a great backup to your cell phone

Cell phones are now as common as a television. Everyone’s got one. Parents can feel an additional measure of safety for their kids when the kids are equipped with a cell phone. It’s easy to keep in touch. People of all ages derive comfort from knowing their cell phone can save the day if they’re stranded on the road. However, what if you or your child forgot to charge their cell phone? What if it’s lost or broken? You can’t reach your kid and you panic. You find yourself stranded in a teeny little town with a discharged cell phone. Now what?

There’s a terrific backup to the cell phone system. It’s a prepaid calling card. Kids may find this a terribly uncool alternative as you stick it in their backpack or wallet. The first time they need to use it, it will be a different story. Mom will suddenly become smarter than they’d thought!

Prepaid calling cards are very inexpensive and quite convenient to use. For as little as $1, you can purchase one of these cards with up to 35 minutes of calling power nationwide. All you need is a land line phone. Prepaid calling cards may be used at a phone booth as well.

Here’s how they work. When you purchase a prepaid calling card, an ID code is printed on the sales receipt. You write this unique code on the back of the card. You then call the 800 number printed on the back of the card. You’re directed to enter the ID code on the number pad of whatever phone you’re using to make the call. You’re on the air! Call your destination number and reach poor old Mom or whoever’s wondering what happened to you.

If you’re making a long-distance call from a friend’s house, it’s charged to your card, not that person’s phone bill. This feature also makes it easy to use a business or home phone to call for help when you’re stranded.

Prepaid calling cards also come in handy if your cell phone calling plan limits you to local calls, or you have no long-distance minutes available. Why pay more?

There are some caveats to be aware of when purchasing prepaid calling cards. Read the fine print. Some of these cards have variable expiration dates, anywhere from 30 to 90 days. If you don’t use the minutes within that time frame, you lose. The card won’t work after that. When this is the case, write the expiration date on the back of the card. When your time runs out, replace it with a new one. Just toss the old card. There’s no danger of someone making use of the information as there is with a credit card.

Prepaid calling cards can be a lifesaver, just when you need it most!

Pay as you go cell phones: A perfect solutionb for infrequent callers

The cell phone is firmly entrenched in countries around the world. Business people would feel naked without their cell phones. Busy Moms need to stay in touch. Teenagers wouldn’t be caught dead without their cell phone – they’d miss out on everything that their friends were up to that day. However, there is a contingent of people out there who don’t spend a lot of time on the phone. Gasp! Yes, it’s true.

Nonetheless, today, a cell phone is almost a necessity, if only for safety’s sake. If you get in trouble on the road, you can call for help instead of just sitting there waiting for someone to come along. The cell phone can be a lifesaver when you’re out on an adventure hike and suffer a sprained ankle or broken arm. So just because you don’t use a phone often doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have one.

The pay as you go cell phones are the perfect solution for such people. Cell phones are inexpensive now, especially if you’re not looking for a lineup of special ringtones, texting features or internet access. Buy a plain, un-techy cell phone and arrange for a pay as you go cell phone service.

Unlike the regular cell phone payment plans, the pay as you go cell phone programs don’t require a lengthy time commitment nor do they have a jumble of caveats for using the cell phone at different times and places. The fine print on the pay as you go cell phones agreement is short and sweet. The per minute fee is generally higher than the regular cell phone service programs, but if you don’t make a lot of calls, it’s not a big deal. All you need is a credit or debit card to put a certain number of minutes on your cell phone. You aren’t required to put a lot of money on your cell phone service. Pay as you go cell phones generally require as little as $10 of minutes as a minimum to process your transaction.

When you sign up for any pay as you go cell phone service, just be sure to ask if your unused minutes expire within a certain time period. If they expire when not used in a thirty day period and you really don’t talk on your cell phone that much, just purchase the minimum amount of minutes. Many pay as you go cell phone services alert you when you’re running low on minutes. You can add minutes right through your cell phone, so it doesn’t get much easier than that.

You may find that the pay as you go cell phones come in handy in situations you’d never even thought about. What did your wife ask you to pick up on the way home? There you go.

The Life Of Mobile Phone Batteries

The Life Of Mobile Phone Batteries

You are going to get a battery when you buy a new mobile phone. That means you don’t have to think much about them until you find that your battery is not performing as it should. There are many reasons why this happens, and it is not always that you need to go out and buy a new one. Some features on your phone use more power, and some problems with the battery are not actually related to the battery at all. You should check into all of these things before you go out and buy new mobile phone batteries. It could save you some money.

One thing that surprised me about my mobile phone batteries may be a problem with many brands of phone. I have a Razor, and so do a few of my friends. We were all wondering why there were times when our batteries would go for days without needing a new charge, and other times it would wear out a few times a day. Our usage of the phone was generally the same day in and day out, so this made little sense. We finally figured out that having the phone on vibrate mode was one of the things that drained our mobile phone batteries rather quickly.

Another problem with your cell phone batteries of which you may not have considered is that there is a connection loose. It could be where you plug your charger into your phone, or somewhere else in between power source and battery. You may also have dust inside that is mucking things up. Even more importantly, you may have a charger that is no longer working correctly, and you will find replacing that is far cheaper than replacing mobile phone batteries that may be working just fine.

When you have taken your phone in and exhausted all of those possibilities, you can then think about buying mobile phone batteries. If you have had your phone for a while, that might be just what you need. Shop around before you buy, as you may find a better price online than you would in the store. You won’t know until you comparison shop. You may find some stores will let you know over the phone if you call in and ask what prices they have. This could save you a lot, which is huge with gas prices being through the roof. You can save in more than one way.

Hands Free Telephone

If you live in New York state, you probably know that you have to have a hands free cell phone if you want to use one in the car while driving. Though this is still not a good idea, it does allow you to have both hands free while driving. There are other states that have the same laws, and those that will soon have them. There are many mobile phones that automatically come with a hands-free set when you get them new. This is because they are so useful and they are also the law in so many places. You may not, however, have thought about the hands free telephone for your home.

If you have a home business, you may spend a lot of time on the phone. This is when you may want to have a hands free telephone. There are a few different ways you can have this, and what you get will depend on your situation. What is great about this is that you will not have to spend a lot of money to have the ability to talk on the telephone without using your hands to hold the phone to your ear. Your personal habits are what are going to make the difference.

When you sit at a desk in your home while you work, your hands free telephone can be something like a headset that those in call centers might use. These sit on the head and have a microphone that sits in front of or next to your mouth. The headset can have one or two speakers near the ear, depending on what you prefer. These plug into certain types of phones, so you may have to get a new landline phone if you have an older model. If you already have the right type, you investment will be minimal.

If you walk around a lot and have to stay on the phone, you will want to have a different type of hands free telephone. The headset can actually be the same, but the phone you want to use will make the difference. You may try to find a wireless headset for your hands free phone, but you may not find one that works well in your home office. You can find many cordless phones that come with a clip. You can put the phone on your jeans or pants, and then plug in your headset. That allows you to walk around the house doing what you need to do while still keeping your business calls coming in as needed.

Cell Phone Headsets Protect You When Driving

Everyone has a cell phone that helps them to stay connected. Most of us would be lost without our cell as it’s really the most important vehicle for communication that we own. You can call people who are anywhere in the world and you can make the call regardless of where you are. One of the most popular places to call people is in the car. If you are one of those people who love to talk on the phone when you are driving, cell phone headsets are a must for you.

Although our cell phones are great for us to communicate with everyone around us and even those who are located far away, sometimes a cell phone can be hazardous. When we are operating a vehicle we need both hands on the steering wheel so we have a quick reaction time if anything jumps out on the road. It would be fatal if we didn’t have that other hand to help us drive. That is why cell phone headsets are such great investments since they make it easy to talk on the phone while driving home.

There are many other situations where you are going to feel inclined to call someone up or answer an incoming call, yet your hands aren’t free. How many of us have been tending to the kids when the call comes in or our spouse calls when we are right in the middle of doing the laundry or gardening. With cell phone headsets you can answer the call, talk and continue doing exactly what you were doing. Your hands don’t need to hold the phone and the reception is often better than it is when you have your ear pressed to the actual cell phone itself.

You can purchase these handy accessories at any electronic store. Some headsets are wireless and fit comfortably in your ear. You have to decide how much money you are willing to spend on what type of headset. Most of them are reasonably priced so you won’t have to worry about spending the cost being too exorbitant. It’s actually a very wise idea to choose one of the available cell phone headsets when you first purchase your phone. This way you get into the habit of using it from the very first day.

Since technology is always advancing we are lucky to have devices that keep our hands free of any phone that will get in the way of an activity that we are doing. We can still communicate with people but we are able to do it in a much safer and convenient way.
