Body Shapers like All-in-One Body Shapers, Lingeries and Girdles

Clothes, Fashion, Uncategorized No Comments »

What can help you with building up your image as you look at the mirror each day? Consider body shapers. Women’s body shapers are much improved from the old fashioned girdles of the past that your mother or grandmother may have worn. You will find modern shapers offer not only performance but also comfort and style. Modern technology, innovative fabrics and new designs are just a few reasons today’s undergarments are so much better than they used to be. Old fashioned girdles and corsets were often too tight, obvious underneath clothing, unattractive and often trapped heat and sweat against the skin. Talk about unpleasant!

bargain clothes

Clothes No Comments »

How do you know when bargain clothes are truly bargains?

If you went shopping on this past ‘Black Friday’, you doubtless saw a lot of bargain clothes prices, heavily discounted items that seemed to good to be true. At 50-75% off, clothes are big sellers. Trendy, stylish clothing, at bargain prices, are tempting gift items. However, along with tightened purse strings, you harbor suspicions that there must be something wrong with these goods. Are they out of date? Are they of poor quality? How do you tell when these bargain clothes are a good value?

The ‘Black Friday’ moniker refers to the day after Thanksgiving, one of the biggest shopping days of the year, when retailers can get back in the black on profits. Roughly 20% of their yearly profits are realized – or not – on this single day of consumer’s purchases. This year, retailers are going all out to lure customers into the store, put them into a buying mood and offer goods that are well worth the bargain prices.

Clothes are usually a no-brainer on your gift list. Everyone enjoys a new addition to their clothes closet. Bargain clothes sales give you a chance to give a luxury clothing item at a shoestring cost. The trouble lies in determining what is a real bargain and what is a cheap quality item that won’t stand up to a few washings. Here are a few tips on making that distinction.

Marked-down bargain clothes racks at the discount store are not usually good values. You should examine the seams and detailing to look for good construction. Look also at the fabric. Is it of good quality? Thin fabric that looks vulnerable to pills and shredding isn’t a good bet. If you run your fingernail lightly along the fabric, there should be no evidence of separation in the cloth. If there is a parting of the ways in the threads, chances are that the garment won’t last for more than a few washings.

On the other hand, those ‘Black Friday’ clothing buys can offer real value. For example, a cashmere sweater or scarf, marked down by 50% can be a real steal and make a great gift. As the holiday season progresses, bargain clothes deals get even better!

With money being as tight as can be, Christmas Eve may be the day to shop for bargain clothes. Consumers are keeping a close watch on their wallets, you and me included! Retailers are saying they’re offering their best bargain clothes today, but you shouldn’t believe everything you hear.

You know what? If you’re looking for bargains in clothing, your best shopping day is the day after Christmas. That’s when you stock up for Valentine’s Day and Easter gifts. Look even further ahead – there’s Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and birthdays. One thing’s for certain – quality bargain clothes always find a happy home!

Athletic Shoes

Athletic Shoes

I have won athletic shoes for years. After all, they are comfortable, go well with most things, and are reasonably priced. I wore gym shoes when I was a kid, and I just never really grew out of it. I have only been wearing athletic shoes as an athlete for a little while, however, and am still getting used to it. I never really thought about the variety of tennis shoes before.

I used to just go into the athletic shoe store and buy a pair of whatever looked good to me and felt good on my feet. I have pretty wide feet, so most of the time I like to wear New Balance shoes. I have always felt that they fit my feet better than anything else out there. Sometimes I would come home with running shoes, other times I would be wearing basketball shoes on my feet, and still other times I would have nothing but a pair of Chuck Taylors.

I knew that running shoes were lighter than other kinds of athletic shoes, but that was about as deep as my analysis had gone. It is nice to wear them now that I am actually a runner. I can feel the way the padding really helps me get the most out of my run. It is designed to help me to direct the force of my steps forward while protecting me from foot shock and other problems runners have. I also really notice the lighter weight of my athletic shoes now that I have started to run seriously. It really does make a noticeable difference when you are on the track.

I learned about the utility of basketball shoes the hard way, unfortunately. I was really having a lot of fun playing a game of ball with friends in some low-top tennis shoes when I stepped wrong while trying to cut sharply. I twisted my ankle and collapsed to the ground in pain. It was a few weeks before I could even move my foot without wincing, much less play ball. If I had been wearing basketball high top shoes, I might have hurt my ankle less because of the added padding. It just went to show my how important choosing good athletic shoes is. It is not just a matter of optimizing your performance. It can also help to keep your feet, ankles, knees, and legs safe.

active apparel

Clothes No Comments »

Use active apparel to stretch your budget and wardrobe possibilities!

In years past, active apparel was reserved exclusively for sports, sporting events and sports activities. Tees, jackets, pants, shorts and windbreakers were designed to mix and match, making the most of just a few garments to tide you over an entire vacation. Over the past couple of decades, active wear has blurred the lines between acceptable office wear and the sporty occasion. Today, smart shoppers are finding ways to make trendy use of the versatility of active apparel. If you live in a year-round warm region of the U.S., you can take maximum advantage of this active wear trend.

Casual wear has surely overtaken the suited look that dominated everyday fashion trends for so long. Active apparel relies on coordinated looks and colors to provide a wardrobe that is versatile, bright and ‘put together’. Active wear designers strive to put together a comfortable look and feel to the line of clothing. The so-called active wear is suited to a variety of fashion venues. When you make judicious use of active apparel, you can look as chic on the tennis court as at a P.T.A. meeting, or at a casual lunch date with your girl friends.

To make the best and most economical use of the active wear garments, you’ve got to shed those old fashioned thoughts of sweatpants and sneakers, with you jogging and sweating on a park run. Take a look at the apres ski active apparel. Celebrities and fashionistas are followed by the paparazzi, just hoping to catch a shot of some diva, sporting an outfit comprised entirely of active apparel, with perhaps a Gucci bag or designer sandals thrown in to the mix. Add a pair of oversized sunglasses and you’re suddenly a fashion statement.

Color is important, in any fashion statement. The active apparel market takes a ‘less is more’ attitude. For example, a pair of magenta pants, paired with a bright pink and white windbreaker and a pale pink tee, creates an up-to-date outfit that goes from the ski slopes to a casual lunch, with equal aplomb.

Accessories matter! You can turn a casual outfit into a sophisticated show stopper, in the wink of an eye. Try those magenta pants with a soft, pink cashmere sweater and a pair of wrap-up-the-leg beribboned sandals. See if that doesn’t grab some attention!

Take this same outfit and put on some glitz! Pair that tri-colored windbreaker with a pair of velvet pants and gold jewelry. All of a sudden, you’re a trend setter!

Active apparel is a trend waiting to happen. All it takes is your imagination and the ability to discard those old, worn out thoughts of fashion superiority.

Be adventurous! The active wear clothing market is a plum, waiting to be plucked, by you! Be at the front of the fashion line and economically correct!

Renaissance Clothing Replicas

Renaissance Clothing Replicas

I’ve always been a sucker for outfits from historical eras. Up until recently, I always thought the easiest way to get shirts, pants, dresses, and gowns that might resemble true Renaissance clothing was to go the second-hand route or try to make these items on my own. I would first find a few patterns that I liked, and then sit down at my sewing machine for hours on end trying to get everything just right. Occasionally, my efforts paid off in some stylish re-creations of Renaissance clothing, but more often than not I ended up with stuff that I wouldn’t dare wear to a medieval reenactment or fair.

Then one of my good friends told me about a few websites that sell Renaissance clothing replicas at very reasonable prices. I’d never really thought about buying these pieces online before because I honestly didn’t think there would be that much of a demand. Let’s face it: these garments appeal to a very limited number of people!

But after looking around at some of the sites my friend told me about, I discovered that there are lots of different places out there that sell the fantastic styles that I desire. In fact, some places actually try to manufacture Renaissance clothing in the same way as the garments would have been made way back in medieval times. I think these pieces are the best, and while they’re a bit more expensive than mass-produced apparel, I don’t mind paying the extra money. Once I buy some of these higher-quality Renaissance clothing replicas, I won’t have to worry about having the dubious distinction of being the one with the cheapest-looking cloaks or gowns. I can find real outfits, in the right styles and made exactly as they should be, simply by looking at websites.

In addition to selling Renaissance clothing, many of the websites my friend pointed me to sold footwear and other accessories. I’d often wondered about how to get boots and shoes styled after that period, but never had any luck in that department. As a result, I often just wore regular tennis shoes, hoping that no one noticed my lack of a complete outfit. But now that I’ve found some places to get shoes and boots to match my Renaissance clothing, I can walk tall at the next fair.

Now that I know I can buy my Renaissance clothing online, I’m going to have a lot of fun shopping around and looking at all the different styles. I can’t wait to make a bunch of purchases so I can show off my new duds the next time I go to a medieval fair or reenactment!

Organizing Your Closet

Clothes No Comments »

Need Help Organizing Your Closet?

If you were to go into my closets, you would have to do so with caution. They are packed to the gills, but there is not much that I can do about that. This is because my closet space is so limited that organization is not going to help. For most everyone else, however, they have a bit more with which to work, even if it does not feel like it. You can go about organizing your closet so that you can get the most in there without having to dig everything out when looking for something you stored away long ago.

When organizing your closet, you should set aside a good chunk of time to do it. Make sure you have a wide open afternoon so you are not rushed and overwhelmed. Start by taking everything you have out of the closet, and also getting anything around that you feel you would need to put into that closet when you are done. This helps when organizing your closet because you can look at all that you have, how much space with which you have to work, and if you are going to have to come up with a plan for some of your other things.

What you have to think about first is what you find in your closet that you can give to someone else or put somewhere else. There are things you are going to find when organizing your closet that you may have forgotten that you have. If you do not have a need for some of those things, get rid of them. Sell them on eBay, give them to friends, or throw them in the trash. If you hang on to such things, you are never going to get very far. If you have holiday items in there, see if there is room in your attic or garage for those things.

Study what you have left. If you have a pile of clothes, you should go through them as well. If you have not worn something in six months, and it does not have a huge sentimental value (like a wedding dress), you should also get rid of those items. They are just taking up space while you are organizing your closet. That can be hard, but if you want things to be manageable and neat, it is a good idea to toss those items you are probably never going to touch again anyway. If you need help with this part of organizing your closet, get a good friend with fashion sense to help you out. They will know what to keep and what to toss.

After that, organizing your closet is a matter of working with what you have. There are some great things you can get at a home improvement store that can help you out. There are things you can use to store your seasonal clothing as well that can be found online. All of these things are going to be helpful. You can also think of your own ways to get the space you need to free up. You may find that organizing your closet is a matter of making what you use the most a priority. Once you think about that, it should be easy to know what to do next.

Tips For Layering Clothes

Tips For Layering Clothes

I once heard someone say that you could tell someone’s age by the way they go about layering clothes. This is a fashion trend right now, and is one that can apply to people of all ages and still look good. I was told that those with the most layers are younger, and the older generations tend to only use two or perhaps three layers. Whatever the case, this is something that can look very good, and can also be very practical when the weather gets hot and you need to do something to cool off. What could be easier than just removing a layer to cool down?

For the most part, layering clothes has to do with smaller shirts like tank tops and even half shirts. For the most part, they cover quite a bit of skin, with each layer covering something different. The arms are often a bit bare, but the coverage is really nice despite the skimpiness of some of the shirts. When layering clothing, you do want to have the lightest materials you can, as layering can draw in and keep heat to the body. That can lead to over-heating, though it is a great thing in the winter.

When layering clothes, find colors that go well together and are not quite as shocking as some combinations that you may look for when buying clubbing clothing. White goes well with many colors, and so does black or even brown. You don’t want orange with purple though. Get light materials, and be sure they are all different shapes. That means some should be longer, some should have thin straps, and others can have straps that sit on the shoulders in a different way than the others. Choosing different styles is what laying clothes is all about.

For some great ideas about layering clothes, look online to see what is hot right now. You may even find some great places to buy the pieces that you want at a great price. You can find some shirts that have the layered clothing look without having to deal with all of the pieces. It’s amazing how fast some trends come and go, but layering clothes has stuck around for a few years. The types of clothes and how the layering is done may change, however, so find out what looks good now and then get what you need for your lifestyle.

Large Women’s Clothes

Clothes No Comments »

Large Women’s Clothes

One of the biggest complaints people have about the large women’s clothes market is that there simply is not enough from which to choose. Sadly, those that make these clothes do not think about style as much as they do when making other sizes. They assume those that want these larger sizes are not too worried about how they look. That is not fair, and it does make it harder for those in those sizes to feel as if they look good in what they can find in their own size in the stores. That means knowing where to look and ignoring the other companies.

If you think about the selection of large women’s clothes in some stores, you understand why those with that size are so discouraged when they go shopping. It is hard enough to have a good body image if you are wearing what the clothing industry considers to be a plus size without having to deal with plain, simple, and truly ugly clothing items. You may find a few pieces of large women’s clothes that you like there, but usually, shopping trips have to cover many stores just to get a few good outfits.

Other than sewing your own stylish clothes (which most simply can not do) there are a few places where the large women’s clothes you find are just as nice as what you would find in the selection offered in smaller sizes. These stores are often geared towards those large women’s clothes exclusively. You are going to find that each of these stores has a different style, so choose the one you like once you have a look around. Though these stores are still few and far between, you can usually find one or two nearby.

Don’t forget about the larger, discount stores when you want to find large women’s clothes. Though the department stores and even the discount department stores you are use to shopping do not have much, don’t forget about stores like Burlington Coat Factory, and other stores that may have designer clothing for less. Some of them have clothes that had some type of flaw, but most flaws are hidden. Just make sure you check these large women’s clothes to see if something is hidden or if you should put it back on the shelf.

You may have your best luck with finding large women’s clothes by going online. There are some great sites out there that have just what you are looking for no matter what your style might be. The larger stores have their own web sites, of course, but there are some that sell online exclusively and have an amazing selection. Once you find a site that offers great large women’s sizes, make sure they have a good return policy. You may find you no longer want to shop anywhere else.
