She had met her boyfriend online and gotten to know him for several weeks until she agreed to meet him in person. To her credit, she met him as safely as possible – in a very public and popular café for lunch. They hit it off immediately and I’d never seen her so happy about a relationship. After six months of dating,
he proposed. After I’d met him and realized how incredibly perfect they were for each other, my thoughts about internet dating changed. Sure, internet dating has led to some people portraying themselves as someone else. And sure, you can get lured into a bad situation. However, that can happen at anytime, anywhere – no matter what. It isn’t limited to simply internet dating. In fact, internet dating can be a really safe way to get to know someone. You don’t have the pressures of meeting them immediately and can get to know their personalities before you see them in person. After they tied the knot, I found myself wondering if I could find my Prince Charming online. You just never know anymore.
