dog gift baskets

There are many cultures that hold animals in high esteem. Many ancient religions were based on the worship of animals. In the United States people spend millions of dollars annually on the care and pampering of their pets. Over the past several years many exotic animals are being taken as pets; however the dog and cat is still the favorite pet. Selling supplies for pets is a multi million dollar industry.

A friend of mine has remained single. She lives a full life, working, golfing, volunteering and recently she bought a town home. Now that she is a home owner she also bought herself a small house dog. This is a huge change for her because she has spent her entire adult life not having to care for anyone or anything but herself, now she needs to plan her schedule around the care of the dog. This friend has a very generous spirit. She has given many shower and wedding gifts as well as baby gifts to friends. I decided that a group of us should get together and give her a house warming party as well as a shower for the adoption of her new pet. It would be a way for us to give back to her. I suggested different things that are needed when owning a home for the first time as well as items for dog gift baskets. I had seen her with the new dog and she treats him like a baby. I decided that dog gift baskets would be the way to go. Several of us decided that we would do the dog gift baskets together. In one we put several different kinds of treats. In another we placed several collars and leashes as well as a doggy rain coat, sweater, and sun glasses for when she takes him on a walk. In the third dog gift basket we placed several chew toys and raw hides so that the dog would have something to do during the day when his owner was at work.

Our friend was delighted with the house warming gifts as well as the dog gift baskets. We had told her that we were coming over and that she needed to have coffee on and paper plates set out. We brought appetizers, wine and several different desserts to share while she opened her gifts. She is so excited about her new home and the new stage of her life. She has already met several people in her neighborhood. She has plans for developing a small flower garden next spring. So far owning property has been a great pleasure for her.

Ever wonder what a unique gift for someone who owns a pet might be? One of the nicest and most welcome items you can give to a friend who has just adopted a new puppy is dog gift baskets. Not only does this provide all the essentials they’ll need to begin caring for their furry friend, but it also shows how happy you are for them as they take this new step in their lives.

You can purchase these already made or if you are imaginative and have a creative flair, you can put dog gift baskets together yourself. If you know the breed of the dog this is incredibly helpful as it allows you the opportunity to purchase items for the dog gift baskets that will fit both the personality and physical size of the dog it’s intended for.

One quick trip to any local pet store will yield literally hundreds of different items that can all go into dog gift baskets. Obviously you are going to want to limit it to just a few choice items. First decide on the size of the dog gift baskets you want to give. This will help you determine just what you can fit into the basket. If you are going for a larger gift, consider a big wicker basket filled with several chewable toys, a bone or two and maybe even a personalized food dish for the puppy.

If your budget isn’t that large consider making a smaller version of this unique gift. You can still fill a smaller basket with many useful items that a dog owner, along with a dog will enjoy. A few ideas for things to put in small dog gift baskets are a new collar and leash, a stuffed animal for the dog to sleep with and some puppy vitamins. All of these things will be put to great use.

The dog owner will no doubt love this unusual offering, so why not place something in there just for them? Almost every pet store has an aisle devoted strictly to information for dog owners. Here you are likely to find small booklets that contain information on each individual breed of dogs. You will also find pamphlets or books that offer suggestions on training a new dog. When added to dog gift baskets, these small books give the dog owner some much needed information.

Of course there are many other ideas for things to add to this type of gift. One is a coupon for obedience training while another is a pass to visit the local dog show. Some booties or a doggie coat also fit in dog gift baskets well. Just remember that your gift is going to go to great use and it’s going to make both the dog and their owner very happy.

Cookie gift baskets

Gift Baskets No Comments »

If you’re anything like me, then you probably have several friends and relatives who are just impossible to shop for. They either already have everything that they could possibly want, or they are so particular about everything that they end up exchanging any presents that they get for something totally different. This can make otherwise enjoyable events such as holidays, birthdays, and special occasions pretty stressful as you fret over what to buy. Well, I’m here to suggest that you consider purchasing cookie gift baskets the next time you need a present for that hard-to-please recipient.

Cookie gift baskets provide a wonderful — and tasty — change of pace from ordinary presents. Even the person who “has it all” would appreciate getting a couple dozen fresh-baked treats, so you never have to worry about whether or not you’re making the right gift-giving decision. In fact, many people prefer to receive food items as presents because they can easily be shared. Plus, there’s no storage issue to contend with. I don’t know about you, but my place is so cluttered that the last thing I need is another bulky present that will end up collecting dust in my overstuffed closet. I’m sure plenty of other people are in the same situation.

If that’s not enough of a reason for you to give cookie gift baskets on the next occasion that calls for a present, consider these as well. First, there are a lot of websites offering timely delivery of cookie gift baskets. That means you don’t even have to leave your home to purchase presents. Instead, you can get all of your shopping done with a few clicks of your mouse. Second, cookie gift baskets can be personalized according to both the recipient and the occasion. So you can order one for your cousin’s high school graduation, your uncle’s retirement party, or your best friend’s birthday without worrying about the propriety of the particular basket. Third, you’ll have a great deal of input as to what kind of cookies will appear in the package. For example if you want a dozen chocolate chip cookies, that’s what you’ll get. If you want to go with a variety pack, the store will be able to accommodate that request also. And fourth, you can make your cookie gift basket as simple or as elaborate as you want. You can get a basic cookie gift basket for under $20, a gourmet package for over $150, and everything in between.

Cookie gift baskets are a fantastic way to satisfy all of your gift-giving obligations. They’re perfect for recipient on any occasion, so the next time you are stuck trying to figure out what to get for that impossible person on your list, consider sending a cookie gift basket.

coffee gift basket

Gift Baskets No Comments »

The holidays are fast approaching and chances are you are going to be in need of either a nice hostess gift or a holiday gift for someone that seems to have everything. Many people also need gifts for people like their doctors’ offices, mail carriers or office gift exchanges, and it is always difficult to find a gift that doesn’t look cheap while you don’t spend a lot of money.

A great alternative to finding one gift is to put together a gift basket with a theme. There are several different ideas that you can put into use, the most popular and easy being a pasta gift basket which would include noodles, sauce, cheeses and if you want to get more in depth you can include an apron, cookbook and wine.

My personal favorite for the holiday season is a coffee gift basket. Just about every one drinks coffee at some time, and especially during the cold winter season. A coffee gift basket can be very inexpensive to put together, or if you want a higher end gift it is perfect as well. For a less expensive option, you can purchase sample sizes of several different coffee blends at just about any coffee specialty store. These sizes generally brew one pot and are the perfect size for a smaller coffee gift basket. I would not recommend purchasing grocery store coffee for a gift basket as it does not seem the most appropriate. Again, if you would like to save some money and go a less expensive route then sample sizes are much more appropriate.

Besides just including coffee in a coffee gift basket, you can also include items like coffee mugs, coffee flavorings, chocolate stirrers and other coffee related items. In addition, great additions are food items that go well with coffee. If you are a baker, then some biscotti or cookies are a fantastic thing to include. Even if you don’t bake, you can purchase these from a bakery and include them for the recipient to enjoy. Chocolates are always a nice addition to any gift basket, so adding them to a coffee gift basket is a wonderful idea. Books, ornaments and even blankets are other fantastic ideas to include, depending upon how much money you would like to spend.

If you are having a hard time finding an appropriate gift for that hard to buy for person, then a themed gift basket is a great starting point. Particularly, a coffee gift basket would be appreciated by just about anyone on your list!

cheese gift baskets

Gift Baskets No Comments »

My husband and I exchange gifts with several of our neighbors each year for the holidays. It seems that each year it gets more difficult to think of a gift. This year we decided to give them cheese gift baskets. We did not like the pre-made cheese gift baskets that are available in the kiosks in the mall so we decided to create the baskets ourselves.

The pre-maid cheese gift baskets included processed cheese spreads. We were concerned about how long some of the baskets had been sitting around. We thought that if we made our own baskets the cheese would be of higher quality and we could choose varieties that we knew our friends liked.

We went to an import store and found wicker baskets to place the cheese in. The store had inexpensive cheese cutters so we purchased one to place in each of the cheese gift baskets. We then went to a local deli. This deli wraps the meat and cheeses in paper. We did not want this for the gift basket. We decided to go to the supermarket and purchase large rounds of four cheeses. We were making four cheese gift baskets so we would quarter each round and wrap the wedges in clear plastic wrap. We also purchased boxes of specialty crackers to place in the baskets. We went to a paper supply store and bought shredded paper to use in the bottom of the baskets as filler. We also bought curling ribbon to decorate the handles of the baskets.

We brought our purchases home and cut and wrapped the cheeses. I placed the filler in the bottom of each basket then arranged the cheeses, cutters and crackers in each. I used several strands of the curling ribbon and tied the strands to the handles. The cheese gift baskets looked very nice and we knew that the cheese was high quality and fresh.

Each of our neighbor’s was very pleased with the gift basket. They all like entertaining during the holidays and so the cheese would be served at their gatherings. My husband and I decided that we are going to make similar baskets for our brothers and sisters. This is a gift that can be assembled quickly just prior to giving it so that freshness and storage do not become an issue. We simply purchase the baskets in advance and then the day we are giving the baskets we purchase and cut the cheeses. We decided we could also include a bottle on wine and other goodies for those people that we want a larger present for.

candle gift baskets

Gift Baskets No Comments »

Just about everyone appreciates candle gift baskets. You can create innovative presents by constructing one of these thoughtful illuminative objects yourself. You may already have many of the necessary supplies in your home. Candle gift baskets can be the perfect present if you put a little thought into the project.

The first item you will need is the basket. Consider the recipient of the present when choosing the right container. You may find something that matches her décor or you may know that she will use the basket for other things like holding towels or kitchen accessories at a later date. When creating candle gift baskets there is more to consider than just candles.

After choosing the right container for the job you want to pick the fragrance, or lack of fragrance for your candle gift basket. I know that some of my friends are sensitive to strong scents. Others spend a lot of money on air fresheners and additional scents can be overwhelming in their homes.

Just because the recipients are not really interested in scents to fill their homes does not mean that they wouldn’t like candle gift baskets. You just need to choose unscented or lightly scented wax for the project. Everyone loves the natural glow of a flame. Not everyone appreciates a lot of fragrance.

You also want to consider a theme for your candle gift baskets. Unscented candles are perfect for dinners by candlelight. You can arrange the project with candlesticks, wine glasses, wine, cheese, a cheese cutter and a serving plate. This lovely present will be appreciated as a well thought out gesture.

People who love a lot of fragrance are perfect recipients for candle gift baskets. In fact, I make several of them for my sister-in-law who can’t seem to get enough of them. The first one I made had a harvest theme. I presented it to her around Thanksgiving. This present was filled with candles that had pumpkin, apple and spice scents. I also included a cute scarecrow and pumpkin candle holders.

On her birthday, I created one of my favorite candle gift baskets. This one had a spa theme. I included bath oils, salts and other bath accessories like a terrycloth robe and of course, scented candles that had a relaxing aroma. She loves to settle in the bath with her kit for a relaxing get-away.

There are countless themes that you can incorporate into these crafty gifts. Just use a little imagination and the candle gift baskets will practically build themselves for you.

birthday gift basket

Gift Baskets No Comments »

Gift baskets have become one of the most popular ideas when it comes to gift giving. They are the perfect solution to many problems and issues that tend to come up when you find yourself searching for a unique gift. A birthday gift basket can actually be the perfect solution for just about anyone on your list celebrating their special day.

When buying one you’re getting tons of benefits. One nice thing about baskets is all the different types available. You can get a birthday gift basket that is comical, such as a Screw Old Age, or one with an equally insulting theme such as Over the Hill. You can find anything from a very sweet birthday gift basket, to the more childish types, like Birthday in a Box. Regardless of what you want, you’re bound to find the perfect theme.

Another great benefit of them is that unlike other gifts they won’t just be receiving one specific present, but rather several small ones at a time. While normal cookie-cutter gifts are okay, many people will admit it’s nice getting an entire arm full of little presents, rather than one present they’ve probably already got stashed somewhere in their house. Additionally, a birthday gift basket can generally work for either males or females. With this idea you’re providing uniqueness as well as practicality.

Everyone knows someone, somewhere, that is nearly impossible to buy for. If anything, these are the people that we hate shopping for, especially when their birthday comes around because there is only so many times in which you can give a gift card. The solution is simple: get them a birthday gift basket! This is probably one of the greatest benefits of these types of gifts because it eliminates the heartache that comes with shopping for hard to buy for people.

As strange as it sounds, they can be very fun to pick out. They’re colorful and very decorative, and can have loads of items inside. If you’re a person who hates having to mess with tape, wrapping paper, and scissors, getting a birthday gift basket wouldn’t be a bad idea. After all, you’ll never have to wrap the thing, and sometimes, you don’t even have to fill out a card! It’s Martha Stewart’s nightmare, but if you’re not the Santa Clause type, a birthday gift basket is your answer.

With all the hustle and bustle that goes on in your everyday life, sometimes it’s easy to forget about birthdays. And by the time you look on your calendar, and remember that your cousin’s birthday was last Wednesday, you’re pulling out the oxygen. But by sending a belated birthday gift basket, you won’t be forced to face the shame of your thoughtlessness, but you can still give a fun, cool gift. No matter what your situation or circumstance, a birthday gift basket is the perfect solution.

Beer Gift Baskets

Beer Gift Baskets

When you don’t know what to get someone for a holiday, wedding, birthday, or other special events, there are few sure bets. If you get them a book, they might not like it. If you get them a piece of clothing, they might not wear it. And if you get them a painting, it my not fit their décor. A gift basket is the one thing that will work for almost everyone. Everyone loves getting treats for a special occasion.

Nevertheless, sometimes getting chocolate gift baskets or flower gift baskets seems a little bit old. A lot of people like getting chocolates and flowers, but it can be nice to stand out from the herd a little bit and get someone a gift that they expect less. That is where beer gift baskets come in. Although they seem like an obvious idea, beer gift baskets appear to be a relatively recent phenomenon. People have been buying each other wine and spirits, sausage, cheese, flowers, and chocolate for decades, but the beer gift basket only dates back just a few years as far as I can tell.

The great thing about beer basket gifts is that you can get them for almost anyone. It is pretty hard to get gift baskets for men, because they are generally seen as a pretty feminine presents. Even if you’re getting a guy all the things he likes best – chocolate, wine, sausage, and other gourmet treats – the ribbons and wrapping might make it look a little bit too girly. A beer gift basket is another thing altogether. Most beer gift baskets are marketed by companies which understand that male customers are a big part of their target demographic. As such, they put together baskets that appeal to men.

Not all beer gift baskets work for all people. If you’re not a big beer drinker, you might not realize how polarized a group beer drinkers are. There are people out there who will only drink one type of beer. If you get someone who is a pale ale fan an amber or a stout, God help you. As such, it is necessary to do a little bit of asking around before you purchase your gift basket beer. Try to take your intended recipient out for drinks once or twice and see what he or she orders. That way, you can get the right kind of beer for him or her when it counts. I guarantee that you will get a good reaction!
