Affordable email marketing

Affordable email marketing begins with a sizable opt-in customer list

Marketing your website can become an expensive proposition, using conventional marketing methods. Particularly when you’re starting up, conventional advertising, such as mailing pieces, magazine ads and television spots can eat up your advertising budget in a hurry. While these methods can bring big returns, you need up front money to fund such advertising efforts. However, email is virtually free, except for the time it takes to set up the email software and write your message. This little bit of effort sets you up with a legitimate and truly affordable email marketing vehicle.

You can’t just send out email pieces to people before you have obtained their permission to contact them. This is spamming and is virtual suicide! Your search engine ranking will take a dive and you may also get shut down by your own ISP! Not the way to go. So how do you get their permission?

What you need to do is build a opt-in customer list as quickly as possible. One of the best ways to do this is to develop a newsletter and some free reports to entice visitors to sign up. This is the basis of an affordable email marketing campaign. In return for delivering quality information to your visitor, you have a name and email to which you can send updates, the regular newsletter and occasional promotional pieces. You want to be judicious in sending purely promotional messages. Too many of these wears thin on your readership, resulting in cancellations and loss of your good reputation in your niche. Word travels fast on the web. All it takes is a thumbs down from a popular blogger and you’re toast.

As you continue to promote your free reports and newsletter on your website, your readers will often pass your message on to an interested friend, who may then come to your site for his own copy, based on this friend’s referral. Before long, your opt-in customer list grows to a substantial number. The more your list grows, the more your affordable email marketing campaign returns for your efforts.

When you place your invitation to subscribe or download a free report, be sure to assure your customer that you value their privacy and won’t ever give, sell or otherwise share their information with others. You also want to build your customer list with the double opt-in. This means that after they sign up, you respond with an email that requires they respond with a reply or a click-back to your site to confirm they asked for your offer. This protects you against allegations of spamming.

By the time you’ve got your affordable email marketing campaign going, you’ll be making money. Then you can think of more expensive campaigns.

Ad Agency

Ad Agency

Finding the right ad agency for your needs can be very difficult. Add agencies have become more diverse and more specialized in recent years, so that now there is simply no substitute for finding exactly what you need. An intensely focused regional marketing campaign will require different strategy than, say, a broad-based Internet campaign targeted towards international markets. A traditional advertising agency will use different strategies than a newer one, more in tune with techniques of guerrilla marketing and viral ad campaigns. A lot of people assume that one marketing company will shine brighter than everyone else, but the truth is the best choice has to do with what you are trying to accomplish. Nearly every advertising campaign is unique.

That doesn’t mean that there aren’t some definite starting points for marketing and advertising. There are some tried-and-true ad agencies that are never a bad choice. The really good, traditional houses will tell you whether or not they can meet your needs, and exactly what they think your needs are. They will figure out if they have the expertise they need in-house and, if not, higher outside workers. There is something to be said for professionalism, connections, and the big resources of talent a large ad agency brings to the table.

On the other hand, sometimes a much smaller, more narrowly focused ad agency is exactly what you need. Sometimes, you really can’t dive into a national market until you penetrate individual niche markets. To do that, you need to have people on your side who understand those little markets. You need to have advertising execs who are specialized In making advertisements that target counter cultural segments of the population. That way, you can get in with the demographic you are targeting without paying an arm and a leg for saturation advertising. Otherwise, you will swing and swing and miss every time.

Still, with so many mediums so cheap nowadays, there is something to be said for a broad-based ad agency that can really put together a campaign designed to hit everyone. Combining Internet marketing, print ads, radio spots, and TV Will give you the brand recognition if nothing else. And sometimes, that is enough to get people in the door. If your product speaks for itself, you just need to make sure that everyone is going to try it once. Just saying the name loud enough over and over again can sometimes get this accomplished.

In my experience, the only way to tell for sure whether an ad agency is the right one for you is to trust your instincts. There are always many different choices out there, so you can’t really judge based on experience alone. Meet with a couple of execs and see if they give you the right feeling.

online advertising campaign

Marketing No Comments »

The online advertising campaign with sound strategies and good planning spells success!

During the early days of internet access, it was a far easier matter to compete, mainly due to the relatively few number of websites. Today, if you hope to successfully compete with literally, hundreds of thousands of competitors, you’ve got to have a well planned and strategically sound online advertising campaign in place before you ever publish your website. If you’ve got all your ducks lined up, you’ll get traffic directed to your site sooner rather than later. Maintaining your site does cost you money. If you’re also paying for ads, the income you derive won’t add up to much without sufficient traffic. The time you spend planning your online advertising campaign and developing the best strategies for your product or service will pay you big dividends, decreasing the time between launch and profits. Let’s take a look at how you can customize your advertising campaign to your advantage.

Google is used to conduct searches for approximately 75% of all net surfers. So it makes sense to make your website Google friendly. Google freely offers detailed information on how your website is ranked, how the spiders work, good links versus what Google deems spammy, along with a wealth of resources which show you how to increase your visibility. In fact, there’s so much information, it will take a while to go through it all. On the other hand, what you’ll learn will help you tailor your strategies for a successful online advertising campaign, which makes it entirely worthwhile. Think of all your competitors who neglect to make this thorough investigation!

For example, we’ve all seen websites which have advertisements which are completely unrelated to the page content, trying to sell you cell phones, gadgets and books on a page with an article on obtaining a mortgage. Perhaps the website owner figures if you can buy a home, you can thus afford these items. However, search engines will penalize you for irrelevant advertising. Target your ads to each page as the product or service pertains to the interest of the reader. Google’s AdSense program  uses a variety of algorithms to ‘read’ the content of your page and match your page up with ads of likely interest to that reader. While you can certainly add affiliate program ads, using Google AdSense drives traffic and revenue to your site far more quickly. This single element can give your online advertising campaign a hefty jump start.

Everyone knows that linking is important to a well planned online advertising campaign. What’s not so well known is that the quality of the site you’re linked to impacts your rankings. The search engine spiders are pretty darn sophisticated these days, so be choosy when you select your links. If the spiders detect that most of your links within text are click-throughs to a potential sale, rather than information of value to your reader, you’ll take another hit in the rankings. The spiders may even exclude that page from future indexing.

It’s most important that you do your homework and find out what helps and what harms your search engine ranking. If you don’t, your online advertising campaign may become a failed campaign, putting you back at the drawing board with no profits in sight.

Publishing some of your content in relevant e-newsletters with high readerships is another excellent technique for any online advertising campaign. When you’re brainstorming for new ideas, always keep ‘relevance’ and quality’ in mind. Then watch your profits grow!
