Long Distance Movers

Long Distance Movers

Eight hundred and thirty-seven miles… That’s the task that stood in front of me, staring me in the face as I attempted to tackle all the obstacles that come with moving so far away. I tried to focus on the important issues of relocation, such as housing and employment, but I couldn’t get my mind off of the physical part of the move. How would I haul so much stuff so many hundreds of miles? The question lingered until I finally decided I would let long distance movers do that work for me.

It certainly was not hard to find long distance movers to help me in my life-altering situation. Not only were they easy to find, they were surprisingly affordable. My initial fear was that I would have to pay an arm and a leg, but in reality it was incredibly inexpensive, especially considering the burden that was taken off of my shoulders. I’ve seen gas prices, and I’ve also researched the “you move it, we provide a big, uncomfortable, gas guzzling truck for you to throw it in” companies, and it was just much easier to go with full-service long distance movers instead.

Saving money is wonderful, but I must say that I was also concerned about how carefully a third party would treat all my prized possessions. Would the long distance movers I chose handle my belongings with care, or would they rush through the job and break a few pieces along the way? I decided to spend some time reading reviews of various moving companies to see which ones received the highest marks for quality and service. This decision ended up paying off, as I found several reputable long distance movers with stellar reputations.

I was also surprised by the range of pricing options available. Many long distance movers offer online quotes after answering a few simple questions regarding where, when, and how much I needed to transport, and several of these companies guarantee the quote to be the price given to the customer on moving day. A lot of companies also provide special rates for selected regions or locales, so customers can save money whether they’re moving across the country or just within a geographic area such as the East Coast or Midwest.

I am a free spirit, so to speak, and I don’t enjoy staying in one place for more than a couple of years. I can say without a doubt that I will choose long distance movers to assist me in my relocating adventures time and time again. After all, they’re convenient, affordable, and save me from doing any of the heavy lifting myself!

Hiring Cheap Movers

Hiring Cheap Movers

Moving is always pretty difficult, but when you try to do it cheaply it can become even more complex. Finding cheap movers that you can trust can be sort of a balancing act. On the one hand, you don’t want to pay a lot, but on the other hand you don’t want to go with someone who doesn’t have the skills or the dependability. There are so many questions to ask. Should you buy cheap moving boxes and try to pack things yourself, or should you go for a deluxe service which organizes your things for you? Do you need everything there right away, or can you wait on some things? Most of all, how far are you moving? Answers to these questions determine what your best options are.

Of course, if you really want to save money, you should probably just rent a you-Haul or other cheap moving truck. The prices are very reasonable, and you can do all the moving yourself. It will be less expensive than cheap movers, perhaps by quite a bit. The problem is, of course, that you have to drive a U-Haul around. You need a friend to work with you, you need hours and hours to pack and unpack everything, and you need nerves of steel or some experience. Driving a moving truck when you have no experience with trucks, after all, is no easy matter.

If you want to pay a little bit more, there are cheap moving companies that will carry all your stuff across the country on palettes. This is great for long distance moving. The best way to do it is to take your essentials along with you, then send the rest along to get there later. It might take a week or two, but it will arrive safe and sound. The problem with these kinds of cheap movers is that they tend to not help you carry your stuff into your house. Basically, they pick it up for you, drop it off at your new front door, and then you’re on your own. You need someone to help you take everything in, and when you’re done you will have a lot of leftover palettes.

If you live in a college town, it can be pretty easy to find cheap movers. I used to always hire students to move my stuff. When I would do this, however, I would try to be cautious. I removed my valuables and fragile stuff on my own, since I wasn’t dealing with professional movers. Still, it did save me quite a bit of money
